Seven Days - FAQ

Where are you based and how far are you prepared to travel?
The members of Seven Days are based all over the North West of England, but we use Manchester as our main location. Therefore, all travelling is quoted using that as a starting point. We do play nationwide, so we are available to play all over the country, and will negotiate any extra travelling expenses with the client.

How much do you charge?
Our fee is based on a number of issues: long distance travelling, overnight stay, hire of extra equipment if required, etc. So it’s always best to contact us with as much information as possible to enable us to give an accurate quote. There is absolutely no obligation once you have received your quote.

How long will you play for?
We will generally perform for a total of 2 hours. That is normally based on 2 x 1 hours sets, although other sets can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Can you provide music while not performing?
Should you choose not to have a DJ at your function, we can provide music through the PA for people to dance to.

What about background music?
We can provide background music through the PA as required for when the band is not performing. This would be suitable for times such as serving meals or buffets.

Who chooses the play list?
As the majority of our work is private functions, our experience means we know generally what works and what doesn’t. We will work with the client so that there is nothing left to chance, but ultimately, we feel it’s best that you trust us to deliver.

Can you provide equipment for speeches?
We will allow use of the band PA and a microphone for speeches and any other formal requirements.

What equipment do you charge for?
We provide a high quality PA system, along with all the individual members’ equipment, and our own lighting system, and these are all included in our initial quote. We would only need to hire extra equipment if we were playing an extremely large venue. This would be assessed prior to the function so that the client is aware of any further expense. The hire of any such equipment would be additional to the band’s fee.

What time will you arrive?
For weddings, it is normally suitable for the band to arrive at the venue during the meal. Then we can set up during the turnaround of the reception room for the evening guests. With parties, it is normal for us to turn up around 6pm. However, in all cases, we will consult with the client with regard to their requirements for arrival time and work around that.

How long do you need to set up?
It generally takes around an hour to set up and sound check.

What is the band’s dress code?
On arrival and departure, the band will be dressed in casual clothing as we will be loading and unloading equipment. For performance, we generally wear suit, shirt and tie. If the event is less formal, the outfits are generally trousers and shirt.

Is it possible to see the band before booking?
The majority of our work is private functions, so guests are generally not permitted. However, we do play at venues where this can be arranged. All our private bookings on the gigs page are marked as “Private Function”, so it may be possible to come and see the band at the others that are not marked. Please feel free to contact us if you have any doubt.

What insurance/liability cover do you have?
We have Public Liability insurance to the value of £5million. We also have a PAT testing certificate for all our equipment.

Can you supply a DJ?
We have worked on a number of occasions with an excellent DJ called Neil Simons. We can provide a quote to include Neil along with Seven Days. As Neil also works independently of Seven Days, we would need to know at the time of your enquiry whether this is required so that we can check his availability for you.

How do I book Seven Days for my function?
We will send you a booking confirmation form with all the necessary information on. A signed copy needs to be returned along with a payment of a non-refundable deposit as stated in the confirmation form. That secures the booking with Seven Days. If you wished to include Neil Simons, the deposit would secure both Seven Days and Neil.

What happens in the event of cancellation?
Should the booking be cancelled within 8 weeks of the event, 50% of the agreed fee will be due. If it is within 4 weeks of the event, then the full balance of payment will be due.
